| The
Missouri Public Utility Alliance represents community-owned
(municipal) electric, natural gas, and water utilities that work
together for the benefit of their customers - customers who, in
effect, "own" the utilities in their community. The
Alliance includes three closely aligned yet distinct organizations: Missouri
Association of Municipal Utilities - the association of Missouri
community-owned utilities responsible for education, training,
communication, and legislative activities in support of its members. Missouri
Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission - the electric joint
action agency formed to provide community-owned utilities the
ability to pool their resources, to buy and sell electric power, or
to join together and invest in power generation and transmission
facilities. This organization provides for other joint action
opportunities and technical support to members' systems. Municipal
Gas Commission of Missouri - the community-owned
natural gas distribution systems that aggregate their natural gas
requirements though one agency. This organization handles all
aspects of buying and transporting natural gas to the municipal
members of the Commission. |
