MJMEUC Power Projects
Iatan 2
The Iatan Power Station, just outside of Weston, MO, currently consists of a single 670 MW (net) unit that was placed in service in 1980. The second unit at the site, Unit 2, will generate 850 MW (net) utilizing a single supercritical, pulverized coal-fired boiler of balanced draft combustion design and a single reheat steam turbine.
Laddonia
The Laddonia combined heat and power (CHP) system is the first generation project owned by MJMEUC to go into operation. In 2005, a MJMEUC/POET Biorefining partnership was established to take advantage of the mutual benefit each entity had in utilizing a CHP project at POET's ethanol plant in Laddonia.
Loess Hills Wind Farm
Loess Hills Wind Farm, located in Rock Port, Missouri which began operation in March, 2008. The energy from this farm is entirely for the members of MoPEP and the city of Rock Port. It began operation in March 2008.
Nebraska City 2
Nebraska City 2 is the 660-megawatt generating unit that Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) constructed adjacent to its Nebraska City Station Unit 1. The unit began commercial production of electricity in May 2009.
Plum Point 1
The Plum Point 1 project consists of a 665 MW (net) coal-fired generating facility being built at a site that is a few miles south of the City of Osceola, Arkansas.
Prairie State Energy Campus
The Prairie State Energy Campus includes a 1,600 MW (net) coal-fired, steam-electric generating station utilizing state-of-the-art pulverized coal supercritical boiler technology. Prairie State is located adjacent to underground coal reserves that are expected to supply all the fuel needs for the site for approximately 30 years.
