Draft Rollback Ordinance on Gross Tax Receipts
A recent decision by the Missouri Public Service Commission to grant Ameren Missouri a 7.1% increase in their customer rates may prompt a legislative response by some Missouri cities. Communities which collect a gross receipts tax from Ameren for electric service to customers in their community will have to pass an ordinance by the end of the month to maintain the tax at its current rate. A sample ordinance is available here.
