Legislative Services
|
The Missouri Public Utility Alliance, through MAMU, represents Alliance member utilities at the state legislature. With the assistance of a Legislative Consultant, the Association lobbies municipal utility issues and member positions with individual legislators and at legislative committee hearings. By being active participants in the legislative process, the Association is able to keep members informed of any new or changing laws. The MAMU Legislative Committee meets monthly during the legislative session to review legislation and establish the legislative policy for the organization. Additionally, special workshops and other functions are held from time to time to help educate legislators and local officials on topics of interest to municipal utilities. |
Ewell Lawson, MPUA's Goverment Affairs Manager presents Majority Floor Leader Kevin Engler (R-Farmington) the MPUA Richard Malon PublicService Award for 2008 in recognition for his commitment to municipal utilities. |
